Mitch Kupchak

Former GM, Los Angeles Lakers

About

Mitch Kupchak is the former General Manager of the Los Angeles Lakers, where he acted as GM for 17 years and was a club executive for 30 years. Kupchak's teams captured six Western Conference Championships and four NBA Championships while winning 63 percent of their postseason contests (111-66). He entered the Lakers front office following a 10-year NBA career with the Washington Bullets and Los Angeles Lakers, one of very few players to win two NBA Championships with two different clubs. Kupchak also earned an MBA from UCLA and graduated from the University of North Carolina, where he was named ACC Player of the Year and has his jersey honored. Prior to his initial NBA campaign, he was also the starting center on the gold-medal winning United States team in the 1976 Olympic Games. An avid golfer, Mitch and his wife Claire live in Brentwood, California.
