Jennifer Yu

Jennifer Yu is a two-times US Women’s Chess Champion and woman grandmaster. She is the current reigning US Women's Champion and US GIrls' Junior Champion. Throughout her chess career, she had numerous record breaking wins. In 2014, she won a gold medal at the World Youth Chess Championships, becoming the first American girl in 27 years to do so. The following year she became the youngest person and the first girl to become the VA State Champion. Her international accolades include bronze medals in both the World Junior Girls’ Championship and Women’s Olympiad. In 2019, she won the US Women’s Chess Championship as the first teenager in almost two decades. She is currently a sophomore studying economics at Harvard.
